Famous Quotes on the Subject:
“Don’t Rush Things anything worth having is worth waiting for” “Patience is a Virtue” “Good Things come to those who wait”
Reality:
“We are on a deadline” “I need it yesterday” “I could have built the Internet in the time it’s taking you” “We have been waiting so long, are they busy killing the cow” (I heard that at a restaurant LOL)
Just remember when things take time, it takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and 13 Hours a Toyota!
Well in actual fact even though virtually every single piece of a Rolls is made by hand it only takes 3 ½ months to build one, but it’s a famous quote when talking about is quality worth the wait.
Back in the day when I was a pimple faced hamburger flipper, it took 110 seconds to make a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and people would still complain, if you look at a quarter pound premium steak from an awesome 5-star Restaurant that’s going to take 30 minutes, perish the thought of the wait, but hey you can Maccas or Michelin huh!
The question we must ask, that in this day and age with people having less patience and focus than a Goldfish, will people still wait for the best or do they have the attitude near enough is good enough or in this age of chasing Pokémon, do they want the best made in the same time frame as the worst?
I think it’s more and more they want the best but want it like NOW.
I find it crazy that people who have a website, have zero patience when it comes to seeing the new updated version. You will get a brief one day and the phone will start the second day, “Are we done yet, can I have a preview” It’s not as if the world is going to find the current website and say, “hey let’s wait for the newbie” before they make their decision.
Do people realize that websites are a little bit like a Rolls, a lot of its done by hand. Sure you can use the latest and greatest Artificial Intelligence Site builders that will take content and quicker than you can say “Algorithm” The IRobot presents you with a website, but it’s not that sexy, stuff is all over the place and the site needs to be cleaned up to have any form of Customer Attraction.
Sort of like the quarter pounder from your local Maccas, yep its quick but Lettuce is hanging off the side, ketchup is all over the box but hey its quick.
So folks when ordering your brand new super site, take a moment and ask yourself, is your business a Maccas or a Michelin? A Toyota or a Rolls, then sit back relax and let the designers do their work and create something awesome.
Enjoy the day.
