Have you ever been to a store and you know exactly what you want and the salesperson comes up, asks you a few questions, and then proceeds to show you everything in the place that you don't want? Like, you have no need to see and you end up getting so frustrated, you find a reason to leave?
You know what I'm talking about, don't you? You were so excited, VISA Card was all polished ready to be handed over, you had rearranged the furniture at home and created a "spot". You had told the family "wait 'till I come home". Heck, you even announced it on social media, "So excited to be buying XYZ after all this time, wow, yippee and yahoo, super customer is in the house"
And then, some overzealous, technical driven person ruins the party as they feel totally obligated to show you everything about ABC product, including the family history of the person on the production line that made it, and the chemical makeup of ingredients, but all you want to do is BUY IT. Arghhh, Torture!
Well, (here it comes...) your website could also have an overzealous problem and people may just be leaving for the same reasons.
So, "how can this be?" you may ask. Well, let me help. Stats are a wonderful thing.
Yes, folks, Duda websites have awesome statistics and one, in particular, is the key to identifying potential overzealous pages (or boring, not needed). It's called... drum roll, please. " BOUNCE RATE ".
Yes, this delicious sounding stat will give you a clue and change your life. Bounce rate will tell you how much of your precious customers land on a page and then run away.
The key? If the bounce rate is high (above 55%), it's likely that page has attention issues. If it's low (below 40%)? That is the pure gold page and is guaranteed to be showing them what they want to see and book or buy.
So, now that I have your attention, what should you be doing? Well, start treating those stats as your very best friend and part of your marketing department. And, if you see a page that shows a bounce rate that is higher than a hot air balloon on a Sunday morning? Suggest you kick it to the curb, replace it with one that shows 'em what they wanna see and book or buy.
Be kind to customers. Keep them interested, excited and booking or buying, and the stats? Will help you do that.
Hugs to all.
